Press release: “Travelling for a dream: beyond the barriers”: towards Cabo da Roca!
July the 8th 2014
On 30th June the 4th edition of “Travelling for a dream: beyond the barriers” started from Trieste. It is an initiative taken by the handicapped from Trieste, who will arrive at Cabo de Roca, the westernmost extent of Europe, on his famous scooter-trike.
During this first week of travel, he has gone through more than 2000 km, stopping in Milan, Turin, Lyon and Castres.
In Milan, a meeting took place in the Saletta del Messaggio di Silo, via Breda 122; in Turin, there was a presentation organized by Convergenza delle Culture Torino and by the association Handicap & Sviluppo and in Castres it has been possible to make some interviews.
The traveler is now stuck in St.Jean de Luz (on the borderline between France and Spain) because of a mechanical breakdown.
“This breakdown is making the trip more difficult – Rosenwirth explained- As a matter of fact, I am literally stuck, as I am not physically capable of walking through the town where I am right now”.
“This mechanical problem makes me face the inevitable need of finding some solutions to similar future situations: a vehicle which allows me, for example, to pull behind or transport a small-sized emergency track ( a motor scooter or a mini electric quadricycle) in order to face at least some basic transfer.
“For the next initiative, I wish I had the availability of some firms to help me in this project- concluded Rosenwirth – I don’t want to give up on this Dream because of the fear of a mechanical breakdown”.
“Anyway, right now I am focused on trying to continue and finish this trip!”.
